We founded Bau Bags in 2018 with a simple goal: Turning our love of painting into vibrant, one-of-a-kind bags that reflect both the beauty and imperfection of life.  What began as a personal project grew into a mission to bring color and authenticity into our every day.

Every bag is handmade right here in Manhattan, by local workers who live and work in the city that inspires us. New York's energy, diversity, and boldness are stitched into every detail.  We're proud to support local craftmanship, keeping our entire process rooted in the place we call home.

Every bag begins as a blank canvas.  Literally.  We hand-paint U.S.-sourced cotton duck canvas before cutting, stitching, and assembling the bags by hand in our NYC studio, paying close attention to every detail.  No two bags are ever the same, and that's exactly the point.
